Ideal for a getaway from urban settings, there are cliffside views, woodland, bird watching, trails on the cliff and along the shore, all within a couple of minutes’ walk from the cottage. Dolphin and Minke whale have regularly been spotted in the Moray Firth. To the north of the cottage, in Portmahomack, and to the south of the cottage, in Shandwick, Nigg and Hilton of Cadboll, historic and archaeological sites have been unearthed revealing Pictish stones. There is a Discovery Centre in Portmahomack dedicated to the history of this area. Just seven miles away, Tain has many shops and restaurant choices, as well as the world famous Glenmorangie Distillery. You can also make a Tesco delivery online. There are also golf courses in Tain, Portmahomack and Dornoch (the Royal Dornoch Golf Club).
Accommodation: Sleeps up to 5 people. It is complete with two bedrooms on the first floor, and on the ground floor a bathroom, dining room, fully-equipped kitchen, including washer/dryer and sitting room (with free wifi, TV and dvd player).
Located on a Scottish country estate near the Moray Firth, Keeper’s Cottage was originally the home for the gamekeeper and has been converted into a charming and cosy holiday cottage. Its location is situated 4 miles southwest of the picturesque village of Portmahomack, near Tain.
